ذِكْرُ مِلْكِ رُكْنِ الدَّوْلَةِ طَبَرِسْتَانَ وَجُرْجَانَ وَفِيهَا فِي رَبِيعٍ الْأَوَّلِ، اجْتَمَعَ رُكْنُ الدَّوْلَةِ بْنُ بُوَيْهِ، وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْفَيْرُزَانِ، وَقَصَدَا بِلَادَ وَشْمَكِيرَ، فَالْتَقَاهُمَا وَشْمَكِيرُ وَانْهَزَمَ مِنْهُمَا، وَمَلَكَ رُكْنُ الدَّوْلَةِ طَبَرِسْتَانَ، وَسَارَ مِنْهَا إِلَى جُرْجَانَ فَمَلَكَهَا، وَاسْتَأْمَنَ مِنْ قُوَّادِ وَشْمَكِيرَ مِائَةٌ وَثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ قَائِدًا، فَأَقَامَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْفَيْرُزَانِ بِجُرْجَانَ، وَمَضَى وَشْمَكِيرُ إِلَى خُرَاسَانَ مُسْتَجِيرًا وَمُسْتَنْجِدًا لِإِعَادَةِ بِلَادِهِ، فَكَانَ مَا نَذْكُرُهُ.
Translation
✧ Mention of Rukn al-Dawlah's taking possession of Tabaristan and Jurjan In it, in Rabiʿ al-Awwal, Rukn al-Dawlah b. Buwayh and al-Hasan b. al-Fayruzan joined forces, and they made for the lands of Washmakir. Washmakir met them and was defeated by them, and Rukn al-Dawlah took possession of Tabaristan. Then he marched from there to Jurjan and took possession of it, and one hundred and thirteen commanders of Washmakir's commanders sought quarter. Al-Hasan b. al-Fayruzan resided in Jurjan, and Washmakir went to Khurasan seeking protection and aid for the recovery of his lands, and what happened thereafter we shall mention.
