Translation
✧ In Ramadan of this year occurred the death of Abu Tahir Sulayman b. Abi Sa'id al-Hasan al-Jannabi al-Hajari al-Qirmiti, chief of the Qaramitah, may God curse him. He was the one who killed the pilgrims around and inside the Ka'bah, stripped it of its curtains, its door, and its ornaments, and wrenched the Black Stone from its corner, carrying it to his town Hajar, where it remained with him throughout this whole period from the year 317 as we have mentioned, and he did not return it until the year 339, as will come. When this Abu Tahir died, his three brothers took charge of the affair among the Qaramitah after him: Abu al-'Abbas al-Fadl, Abu al-Qasim Sa'id, and Abu Ya'qub Yusuf, sons of Abi Sa'id al-Jannabi, may God curse them. Abu al-'Abbas was weak of body and devoted to reading books; Abu Ya'qub was devoted to amusement and play. Despite this, the word of the three was one, and they did not disagree about anything. They had seven viziers who also agreed; may God disfigure them all.
