Translation
✧ Ibn al-Jawzī said: In Jumādā al-Ākhirah, on the night of its seventh, there was a night of cold, thunder, and lightning, and the Green Dome fell from the Palace of al-Manṣūr. This dome had been the crown of Baghdad, the landmark of the city, and a great monument among the monuments of the Banū al-ʿAbbās. It was built at the beginning of their reign, and between its construction and its fall there were one hundred and eighty-seven years.
