Translation

✧ In it, a letter arrived from the king of the Romans to the Caliph al-Rāḍī, written in Greek with an Arabic translation: the Greek in gold and the Arabic in silver. Its content was a request for a truce between him and him. He sent with the letter many splendid gifts and rarities. The Caliph agreed to that. Six thousand Muslim captives, both male and female, were ransomed at the river al-Badandūn.
