ذِكْرُ مَنْ تُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ مِنَ الْأَكَابِرِ 2371 - أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَبُو حَامِدِ ابْنُ الشَّرْقِيِّ : وُلِدَ فِي رَجَبِ سَنَةِ أَرْبَعِينَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ، وَسَمِعَ بِالْأَمْصَارِ مِنْ شُيُوخِهَا، وَكَانَ وَاحِدَ عَصْرِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الْحَدِيثِ، وَكَانَ كَثِيرَ الْحَجِّ. قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ: وَنَظَرَ إِلَى أَبِي حَامِدِ بْنِ الشَّرْقِيِّ، فَقَالَ: حَيَاةُ أَبِي حَامِدٍ تَحْجِزُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَالْكَذِبِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ. تُوُفِّيَ فِي رَمَضَانِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2372 - إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ بْنِ مُوسَى، أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ : حَدَّثَ عَنْ جَمَاعَةٍ، رَوَى عَنْهُ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ، وَابْنُ شَاهِينَ فِي آخَرِينَ وَكَانَ يَسْكُنُ سُرَّ مَنْ رَأَى، وَحَدَّثَ بِهَا وَبِبَغْدَادَ وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي مَحْرَمِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ ]. 2373 - إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَبُو يَعْقُوبَ الصَّيْدَلَانِيُّ: حَدَّثَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ أَحْمَدَ الْمِقْدَامِ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ عِنْدَهُ غَيْرُ حَدِيثٍ وَاحِدٍ. وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي [صَفَرِ ] هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2374 - جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ، أَبُو الْفَضْلِ الْقَافْلَائِيُّ حَدَّثَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّاغَانِيِّ، وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْقَنْطَرِيِّ، وَأَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ، رَوَى عَنْهُ ابْنُ الْمُظَفَّرِ، وَابْنُ شَاهِينَ، وَكَانَ مِنَ الثِّقَاتِ وَلَهُ مَعْرِفَةٌ فِي الْحَدِيثِ. وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي جُمَادَى الْأُولَى مِنْ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2375 - جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدَوَيْهِ، أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَعْرُوفُ بِالْبَرَاثِيِّ: مَرْوِيُّ الْأَصْلِ. حَدَّثَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ هَانِئٍ رَوَى عَنْهُ ابْنُ شَاهِينَ وَكَانَ ثِقَةً. وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي جُمَادَى الْآخِرَةِ مِنْ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2376 - الْحَسَنُ بْنُ آدَمَ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ : حَدَّثَ عَنْ جَمَاعَةٍ، وَكَانَ ثِقَةً، وَكَانَ يَتَوَلَّى عَمَالَاتٍ مِنْ صَعِيدِ مِصْرَ. تُوُفِّيَ بِالْفَيُّومِ مِنْ صَعِيدِ مِصْرَ فِي شَوَّالِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2377 - الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمَلِكِ [بْنِ ] أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ، أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ: وَلِيَ قَضَاءَ مَدِينَةِ الْمَنْصُورِ بَعْدَ عَزْلِ أَبِي الْحُسَيْنِ الْأُشْنَانِيِّ عَنْهَا، وَكَانَتْ وِلَايَةُ الْأُشْنَانِيِّ لَهَا ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ فَحَسْبُ. قَالَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ: بَعْدَ الثَّلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ الَّتِي تَقَلَّدَ فِيهَا ابْنُ الْأُشْنَانِيِّ مَدِينَةَ الْمَنْصُورِ اسْتَقْضَى الْمُقْتَدِرُ عَلَى مَدِينَةِ الْمَنْصُورِ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ فِي يَوْمِ الِاثْنَيْنِ لِسِتٍّ بَقِينَ مِنْ رَبِيعٍ الْآخَرِ سَنَةَ سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ وَثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ، وَهَذَا رَجُلٌ حَسَنُ السِّيرَةِ جَمِيلُ الطَّرِيقَةِ، قَرِيبُ الشَّبَهِ مِنْ أَبِيهِ وَجَدِّهِ فِي بَابِ الْحُكْمِ وَالسَّدَادِ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ وَالِيًا عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَى نِصْفِ رَمَضَانِ عِشْرِينَ وَثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ، ثُمَّ صَرَفَهُ الْمُقْتَدِرُ. وَتُوُفِّيَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ مِنْ سَنَةِ خَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ. 2378 - عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ، أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ الْخَزَّازُ النَّحْوِيُّ: حَدَّثَ عَنِ الْمُبَرِّدِ، وَثَعْلَبٍ. وَكَانَ ثِقَةً وَلَهُ مُصَنَّفَاتٌ فِي عُلُومِ الْقُرْآنِ غَزِيرَةُ الْفَوَائِدِ. تُوُفِّيَ فِي رَبِيعٍ الْأَوَّلِ مِنْ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2379 - عُمَرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَبُو حَفْصٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ الْمَعْرُوفُ بِابْنِ عَلَّكَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ : حَدَّثَ عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ الدُّورِيِّ وَغَيْرِهِ. رَوَى عَنْهُ ابْنُ الْمُظَفَّرِ وَالدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ وَكَانَ ثِقَةً صَدُوقًا مُتْقِنًا مُتَيَقِّظًا فَقِيهًا نَاسِكًا، تُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2380 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ يَحْيَى، أَبُو الطَّيِّبِ النَّحْوِيُّ يُعْرَفُ بِابْنِ الْوَشَّاءِ. كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَدَبِ، حَسَنَ التَّصَانِيفِ، مَلِيحَ الْأَخْبَارِ حَدَّثَ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ نَاصِحٍ، وَالْحَارِثِ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ، وَثَعْلَبٍ، وَأَبَانٍ [وَالْمُبَرِّدِ ] وَغَيْرِهِمْ. 2381 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عِيسَى بْنِ فَرُّوخٍ، أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْمُزْنِيُّ : سَكَنَ الرِّقَّةَ وَحَدَّثَ بِهَا عَنْ أَبِي حَفْصٍ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْفَلَّاسِ وَغَيْرِهِ. وَرَوَى عَنْهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ، وَأَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ، وَابْنُ الْمُظَفَّرِ وَغَيْرُهُمْ ]، وَقَالَ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ: هُوَ ثِقَةٌ، تُوُفِّيَ بَعْدَ الْعِشْرِينَ وَالثَّلَاثِمِائَةِ. 2382 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ قَطَنِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، أَبُو عِيسَى السِّمْسَارُ: سَمِعَ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَرَفَةَ وَغَيْرَهُ. رَوَى عَنْهُ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ، [وَالْكَتَّانِيُّ ] وَكَانَ ثِقَةً. قَالَ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْوَرَّاقُ: ذُكِرَ أَنَّ ابْنَ قَطَنٍ، وُلِدَ فِي سَنَةِ خَمْسٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ يَوْمَ الْجُمْعَةِ، وَكَانَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ. وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمْعَةِ لِسَبْعٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ رَبِيعٍ الْآخَرِ سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ وَثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ. 2383 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْمَهْدِيِّ، أَبُو عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَلُوَيْنٍ، وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُوَفَّقِ وَغَيْرِهِمْ، وَفِي حَدِيثِهِ مَنَاكِيرُ وَغَرَائِبُ. رَوَى عَنْهُ أَبُو عُمَرَ وَابْنُ السَّمَّاكِ، وَأَبُو سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْقَطَّانُ، وَدَعْلَجُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ. قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ: أَبُو عُمَارَةَ ضَعِيفٌ جِدًّا. 2384 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ هَارُونَ، أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ الْفَقِيهُ: كَانَ يَتَفَقَّهُ لِأَبِي ثَوْرٍ، وَحَدَّثَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ، وَالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَرَفَةَ وَعَبَّاسٍ الدُّورِيِّ وَغَيْرِهِمْ. رَوَى عَنْهُ الْآجُرِّيُّ، وَالدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ [وَيُوسُفُ الْقَوَّاسُ ] وَغَيْرُهُمْ وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي شَوَّالٍ مِنْ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2385 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْجَرِيرِيُّ حَدَّثَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَخِي الْأَصْمَعِيِّ وَغَيْرِهِ، وَلَمْ يَظْهَرْ عَنْهُ إِلَّا الْخَيْرُ. تُوُفِّيَ فِي مَحْرَمِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2386 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى عِيسَى بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْهَاشِمِيُّ : سَمِعَ جَعْفَرًا الْفِرْيَابِيَّ، وَكَانَ ثِقَةً. قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الطَّبَرِيُّ: رَأَيْتُ ثَلَاثَةً يَتَقَدَّمُونَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَصْنَافٍ مِنْ أَبْنَاءِ جِنْسِهِمْ فَلَا يُزَاحِمُهُمْ أَحَدٌ، أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمُوسَوِيُّ يَتَقَدَّمُ [الطَّالِبِينَ فَلَا يُزَاحِمُهُ ] أَحَدٌ، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى الْهَاشِمِيُّ يَتَقَدَّمُ الْعَبَّاسِيِّينَ فَلَا يُزَاحِمُهُ أَحَدٌ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ الْأَكْفَانِيُّ يَتَقَدَّمُ الشُّهُودَ فَلَا يُزَاحِمُهُ أَحَدٌ. 2387 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ: أَنْدَلُسِيُّ [الْأَصْلِ ] كَانَ فَقِيهًا مُقَدَّمًا رَوَى الْحَدِيثَ، وَتُوُفِّيَ بِالْأَنْدَلُسِ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2388 - مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ خَاقَانَ، أَبُو مُزَاحِمٍ : كَانَ أَبُوهُ وَزِيرَ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ. وَسَمِعَ أَبُو مُزَاحِمٍ مِنْ عَبَّاسٍ الدُّورِيِّ، وَأَبِي قِلَابَةَ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ وَالْمَرْوَرُّوذِيِّ رَوَى عَنْهُ الْآجُرِّيُّ وَابْنُ شَاهِينَ. وَكَانَ ثِقَةً مِنْ أَهْلِ السُّنَّةِ نَقَشَ خَاتَمَهُ "دِنْ بِالسُّنَنِ مُوسَى تُعَنْ ". تُوُفِّيَ فِي ذِي الْحِجَّةِ مِنْ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2389 - مُوسَى بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ كُوفِيُّ الْأَصْلِ، وُلِدَ سَنَةَ سِتٍّ وَأَرْبَعِينَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ. وَسَمِعَ الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ. رَوَى عَنْهُ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ، وَكَانَ ثِقَةً. وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي ذِي الْقِعْدَةِ مِنْ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ.

✧ Mention of the notables who died in this year 2371 - Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan, Abū Ḥāmid Ibn al-Sharqī: He was born in Rajab of the year 240. He heard [hadith] in the garrison towns from their shaykhs. He was the unique one of his age in the science of hadith, and he performed the pilgrimage many times. Abū Bakr Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Khuzaymah said, looking at Abū Ḥāmid Ibn al-Sharqī: “The life of Abū Ḥāmid is a barrier between the people and lying upon the Messenger of God ﷺ.” He died in Ramaḍān of this year. 2372 - Ibrāhīm b. ʿAbd al-Ṣamad b. Mūsā, Abū Isḥāq al-Hāshimī: He related from a group. Al-Dāraquṭnī and Ibn Shāhīn, among others, related from him. He used to live in Surra man raʾā [Samarra], and he related hadith there and in Baghdad. He died in Muḥarram of this year. 2373 - Isḥāq b. Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm, Abū Yaʿqūb al-Ṣaydalānī: He related from Abū al-Ashʿath Aḥmad al-Miqdām, but he had only a single hadith. He died in [Ṣafar of] this year. 2374 - Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. al-Walīd, Abū al-Faḍl al-Qāflāʾī: He related from Muḥammad b. Isḥāq al-Ṣāghānī, ʿAlī b. Dāwūd al-Qanṭarī, and Aḥmad b. Abī Khaythamah. Ibn al-Muẓaffar and Ibn Shāhīn related from him. He was one of the trustworthy, possessing knowledge of hadith. He died in Jumādā al-Ūlā of this year. 2375 - Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad b. ʿAbdawayh, Abū ʿAbd Allāh, known as al-Barāthī: Of Marw origin. He related from Ibrāhīm b. Hāniʾ. Ibn Shāhīn related from him, and he was trustworthy. He died in Jumādā al-Ākhirah of this year. 2376 - Al-Ḥasan b. Ādam al-ʿAsqalānī: He related from a group and was trustworthy. He used to undertake administrative offices in Upper Egypt. He died in al-Fayyūm in Upper Egypt in Shawwāl of this year. 2377 - Al-Ḥasan b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAlī b. Muḥammad b. al-Malik [b.] Abī al-Shawārib, Abū Muḥammad al-Umawī: He was appointed judge of the city of al-Manṣūr after the dismissal of Abū al-Ḥusayn al-Ushnānī from it. Al-Ushnānī’s tenure over it lasted only three days. Ṭalḥah b. Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar said: “After the three days during which Ibn al-Ushnānī had held the city of al-Manṣūr, al-Muqtadir appointed al-Ḥasan b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAlī as judge over the city of al-Manṣūr on Monday, six days remaining in Rabīʿ al-Ākhir, year 316. This was a man of good conduct and excellent manner, closely resembling his father and grandfather in judgment and integrity. He remained governor of the city until the middle of Ramaḍān 320, then al-Muqtadir dismissed him.” He died on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ in the year 325. 2378 - ʿAbd Allāh b. Muḥammad b. Sufyān, Abū al-Ḥusayn al-Khazzāz al-Naḥwī: He related from al-Mubarrad and Thaʿlab. He was trustworthy, and he had abundant, beneficial works on the sciences of the Qurʾān. He died in Rabīʿ al-Awwal of this year. 2379 - ʿUmar b. Aḥmad b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, Abū Ḥafṣ al-Jawharī, known as Ibn ʿAllak al-Marwazī: He related from ʿAbbās al-Dūrī and others. Ibn al-Muẓaffar and al-Dāraquṭnī related from him. He was trustworthy, truthful, precise, vigilant, a jurist, and devout. He died in this year. 2380 - Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Yaḥyā, Abū al-Ṭayyib al-Naḥwī, known as Ibn al-Washshāʾ: He was a man of letters, of fine writings and witty reports. He related from Aḥmad b. ʿUbayd b. Nāṣiḥ, al-Ḥārith b. Abī Usāmah, Thaʿlab, Abān [and al-Mubarrad], and others. 2381 - Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm b. ʿĪsā b. Farrūkh, Abū Bakr al-Muzanī: He settled in al-Raqqah and related there from Abū Ḥafṣ ʿAmr b. ʿAlī al-Fallās and others. Abū Bakr al-Shāfiʿī, Abū al-Qāsim al-Ṭabarānī, Ibn al-Muẓaffar, and others related from him. Al-Dāraquṭnī said: “He is trustworthy.” He died after 320. 2382 - Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. Qaṭan b. Khālid b. Ḥayyān, Abū ʿĪsā al-Simsār: He heard al-Ḥasan b. ʿArafah and others. Al-Dāraquṭnī [and al-Kattānī] related from him, and he was trustworthy. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿAlī al-Warrāq said: “It is mentioned that Ibn Qaṭan was born in the year 235 on a Friday, which was the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ.” He died on Friday, seven days remaining in Rabīʿ al-Ākhir, year 325. 2383 - Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. al-Mahdī, Abū ʿUmārah: He related from Abū Bakr b. Abī Shaybah, Luwayn, ʿAlī b. al-Muwaffaq, and others. His hadith contain rejected and strange reports. Abū ʿUmar, Ibn al-Sammāk, Abū Sahl b. Ziyād al-Qaṭṭān, Daʿlaj, and Abū Bakr al-Shāfiʿī related from him. Abū al-Ḥasan al-Dāraquṭnī said: “Abū ʿUmārah is very weak.” 2384 - Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. Hārūn, Abū Bakr al-ʿAskarī, the jurist: He used to study jurisprudence according to the school of Abū Thawr. He related from Ibrāhīm b. ʿAbd Allāh b. al-Junayd, al-Ḥasan b. ʿArafah, ʿAbbās al-Dūrī, and others. Al-Ājurrī, al-Dāraquṭnī, [Yūsuf al-Qawwās], and others related from him. He died in Shawwāl of this year. 2385 - Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. Yūsuf b. Ismāʿīl, Abū Aḥmad al-Jarīrī: He related from the nephew of al-Aṣmaʿī and others, and nothing but good appeared from him. He died in Muḥarram of this year. 2386 - Muḥammad b. Abī Mūsā ʿĪsā b. Aḥmad b. Mūsā b. Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm, Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Hāshimī: He heard Jaʿfar al-Firyābī, and he was trustworthy. Abū Isḥāq Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad al-Ṭabarī said: “I saw three men who surpassed three classes of their peers so that no one competed with them: Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥusayn b. Aḥmad al-Mūsawī, who surpassed [the Ṭālibids so that none competed with him]; Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad b. Abī Mūsā al-Hāshimī, who surpassed the ʿAbbāsids so that none competed with him; and Abū Bakr al-Akfānī, who surpassed the notaries so that none competed with him.” 2387 - Muḥammad b. al-Miswar b. ʿUmar b. al-Faḍl b. al-ʿAbbās b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib: Of Andalusian [origin]. He was a leading jurist, related hadith, and died in al-Andalus in this year. 2388 - Mūsā b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Yaḥyā b. Khāqān, Abū Muzāḥim: His father was the vizier of al-Mutawakkil. Abū Muzāḥim heard from ʿAbbās al-Dūrī, Abū Qilābah, ʿAbd Allāh b. Aḥmad, and al-Marwarūdhī. Al-Ājurrī and Ibn Shāhīn related from him. He was trustworthy, one of the people of the Sunnah. He engraved on his seal: “Adhere to the Sunan, Mūsā, and you will be helped.” He died in Dhū al-Ḥijjah of this year. 2389 - Mūsā b. Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad, Abū al-Ḥasan al-ʿUthmānī: Of Kufan origin, born in the year 246. He heard al-Rabīʿ b. Sulaymān. Al-Dāraquṭnī related from him, and he was trustworthy. He died in Dhū al-Qaʿdah of this year.
