Translation

✧ Mention of the arrest of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān and the vizierate of Abū Jaʿfar al-Karkhī When ʿAbd al-Raḥmān's incapacity became clear to al-Rāḍī and affairs came to a standstill, he arrested him and his brother ʿAlī b. ʿĪsā, and confiscated from him one hundred thousand dinars, and confiscated from his brother ʿAbd al-Raḥmān seventy thousand dinars. Then he was dismissed after three and a half months, and Sulaymān b. al-Ḥusayn was invested, then he was dismissed in favor of Abū al-Fatḥ al-Faḍl b. Jaʿfar b. al-Furāt, but in the coming year, and his house was burned as the house of Ibn Muqlah was burned on the day that one was burned, with one year between them. All of this was from the confusion of the Turks and the ghilmān. When the house of Ibn Muqlah was burned in this year, some people wrote on some of its walls: You thought well of the days when they were fair, and did not fear the evil that fate brings; the nights made peace with you, so you were deceived by them, for at the clearness of nights, turbidity occurs. And the affair of the caliphate became very weak.
