Then the Year 323 AH Began
وَفِيهَا فِي جُمَادَى الْآخِرَةِ نَادَى بَدْرٌ الْخَرْشَنِيُّ صَاحِبُ الشُّرْطَةِ فِي الْجَانِبَيْنِ مِنْ بَغْدَادَ أَنْ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ اثْنَانِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَرْبَهَارِيِّ الْوَاعِظِ الْحَنْبَلِيِّ، وَحَبَسَ مِنْهُمْ جَمَاعَةً، وَاسْتَتَرَ الْبَرْبَهَارِيُّ، فَلَمْ يَظْهَرْ مُدَّةً.
Translation
✧ In this year, in Jumādā al-Ākhirah, Badr al-Kharshanī, the chief of police in both districts of Baghdad, proclaimed that no two followers of Abū Muḥammad al-Barbahārī, the Ḥanbalī preacher, should gather together, and he imprisoned a group of them. Al-Barbahārī went into hiding and did not appear for a time.
