Then the Year 320 AH of the Hijrah Began
فَمِنَ الْحَوَادِثِ فِيهَا: أَنَّهُ كَانَتْ شَتْوَتُهَا دَفِيئَةً وَلَمْ يَجْمَدْ فِيهَا الْمَاءُ، وَكَانَ هَوَاؤُهَا كَهَوَاءِ الرَّبِيعِ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ الرَّبِيعُ كَثُرَتِ الْأَمْرَاضُ الْحَادَّةُ مُنْذُ شُبَاطَ، وَكَثُرَ الْمَوْتُ، وَعَرَضَ لِأَكْثَرِ النَّاسِ ذَرَبٌ.
Translation
✧ Among the events in it: Its winter was warm, and water did not freeze in it, and its air was like the air of spring. Then when spring came, acute illnesses increased from Shubāṭ, and death increased, and most people experienced diarrhea.
