فِي سَنَةُ أَرْبَعٍ وَثَمَانِينَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ كَانَ فِتْنَةٌ بِطَرَسُوسَ بَيْنَ رَاغِبٍ مَوْلَى الْمُوَفَّقِ وَبَيْنَ دُمْيَانَةَ . وَكَانَ سَبَبُ ذَلِكَ أَنَّ رَاغِبًا تَرَكَ الدُّعَاءَ لِهَارُونَ بْنِ خُمَارَوَيْهِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ طُولُونَ، وَدَعَا لِبَدْرٍ مَوْلَى الْمُعْتَضِدِ، وَاخْتَلَفَ هُوَ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ طُوغَانَ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ طُوغَانَ مِنَ الْفِدَاءِ سَنَةَ ثَلَاثٍ وَثَمَانِينَ [ وَمِائَتَيْنِ ] رَكِبَ الْبَحْرَ وَمَضَى، وَلَمْ يَدْخُلْ طَرَسُوسَ، وَخَلَّفَ دُمْيَانَةَ بِهَا لِلْقِيَامِ بِأَمْرِهَا، وَأَمَدَّهُ ابْنُ طُوغَانَ، فَقَوِيَ بِذَلِكَ، وَأَنْكَرَ مَا كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ رَاغِبٌ، ( فَوَقَعَتِ الْفِتْنَةُ، فَظَفِرَ بِهِمْ رَاغِبٌ )، فَحَمَلَ دُمْيَانَةَ إِلَى بَغْدَاذَ.
Translation
✧ In the year two hundred and eighty-four there was discord in Tarsus between Rāghib, the mawlā of al-Muwaffaq, and Dumyānah. The reason for that was that Rāghib abandoned the supplication for Hārūn b. Khumārawayh b. Aḥmad b. Ṭūlūn, and supplicated for Badr, the mawlā of al-Muʿtaḍid, and he and Aḥmad b. Ṭūghān disagreed. When Aḥmad b. Ṭūghān returned from the ransom in the year two hundred and eighty-three, he embarked on the sea and departed, and did not enter Tarsus, and he left Dumyānah there to take charge of its affairs, and Ibn Ṭūghān reinforced him, and he gained strength through that, and he denounced what Rāghib was doing, and discord occurred, and Rāghib prevailed over them, and he carried Dumyānah to Baghdad.
