وَأَمَّا اخْتِلَافُ الْعُلَمَاءِ فِي مَحَلَّةِ هَذَا الْكَهْفِ، فَقَالَ كَثِيرُونَ: هُوَ بِأَرْضِ أَيْلَةَ. وَقِيلَ: بِأَرْضِ نِينَوَى. وَقِيلَ: بِالْبَلْقَاءِ. وَقِيلَ: بِبِلَادِ الرُّومِ. وَهُوَ أَشْبَهُ. وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ.

Translation

✧ As for the scholars' disagreement about the location of this cave, many said: It is in the land of Aylah. It was said: in the land of Nineveh. It was said: in al-Balqāʾ. It was said: in the lands of the Byzantines, and this is most likely. And Allah knows best.
