ذِكْرُ مَنْ تُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ مِنَ الْأَكَابِرِ حَسَّانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ حَسَّانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْكِنْدِيُّ. يَرْوِي عَنِ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ وَغَيْرِهِ، وَكَانَ صَدُوقًا، حَسَنَ الْحَدِيثِ. تُوُفِّيَ بِمِصْرَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. أَبُو صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى جُهَيْنَةَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، أَبُو صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى جُهَيْنَةَ. [مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ]. وَهُوَ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، وُلِدَ سَنَةَ تِسْعٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ وَمِائَةٍ، وَسَمِعَ مِنْ جَمَاعَةٍ، وَرَوَى عَنْهُ أَئِمَّةٌ مِثْلَ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، وَالْبُخَارِيِّ، وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الذُّهْلِيِّ، وَغَيْرِهِمْ، وَقَدْ حَدَّثَ عَنْهُ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ. قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ: كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ مُتَمَاسِكًا فِي أَوَّلِ أَمْرِهِ، ثُمَّ فَسَدَ بِآخِرِهِ، وَلَيْسَ هُوَ بِشَيْءٍ، وَرُوِيَ عَنْ يَحْيَى أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُوَثِّقُهُ. وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. وَفِيهَا تُوُفِّيَ: أَبُو الْيَمَانِ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ. وَعُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ. وَمُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ. وَيَحْيَى بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْوُحَاظِيُّ. وَفِيهَا تُوُفِّيَ أَبُو هَاشِمٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي خِدَاشٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ، وَكَانَ كَثِيرَ الرِّوَايَةِ مِنَ الْمُعَافَى بْنِ عِمْرَانَ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the notables who died in this year Ḥassān b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Sahl Ḥassān b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Sahl, Abū ʿAlī al-Kindī. He narrated from al-Layth b. Saʿd and others, and he was truthful (ṣadūq), of sound ḥadīth. He died in Egypt in this year. Abū Ṣāliḥ, mawlā of Juhaynah ʿAbd Allāh b. Ṣāliḥ b. Muḥammad b. Muslim, Abū Ṣāliḥ, mawlā of Juhaynah. [From the people of Egypt]. He was the scribe of al-Layth b. Saʿd. He was born in the year one hundred thirty-nine, and he heard from a group, and imāms narrated from him such as Abū ʿUbaydah, al-Bukhārī, Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā al-Dhuhlī, and others. Al-Layth b. Saʿd also narrated from him. Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal said: ʿAbd Allāh b. Ṣāliḥ was coherent in the beginning of his affair, then he became corrupted at its end, and he is nothing. It was narrated from Yaḥyā that he deemed him reliable. He died in this year. In it also died: Abū al-Yamān al-Ḥakam b. Nāfiʿ. ʿUmar b. Ḥafṣ b. Ghiyāth. Muslim b. Ibrāhīm. Yaḥyā b. Ṣāliḥ al-Wuḥāẓī. In it also died Abū Hāshim Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. Abī Khidāsh al-Mawṣilī, and he was a prolific narrator from al-Muʿāfā b. ʿImrān.
