The Year 214 AH
ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ سَنَةُ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ فَمِنَ الْحَوَادِثِ فِيهَا: خُرُوجُ بِلَالٍ الضَّبَابِيُّ شَارِيًا ، فَشَخَصَ الْمَأْمُونُ إِلَى الْعَلْثِ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى بَغْدَادَ، وَوَجَّهَ ابْنَهُ عَبَّاسًا فِي جَمَاعَةٍ مِنَ الْقُوَّادِ، فِيهِمْ هَارُونُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، فَقَتَلَهُ هَارُونُ.
Translation
✧ Then the year 214 AH began. Among the events in it: the outbreak of Bilāl al-Ḍabābī as a rebel (shārī). Al-Maʾmūn set out to al-ʿAlth, then returned to Baghdad, and sent his son ʿAbbās with a group of commanders, among them Hārūn b. Abī Khālid. Hārūn killed him.
