Translation
✧ In this year, ʿAbd al-Salām and Ibn Jalīs renounced al-Maʾmūn in Egypt among the Qaysiyya and the Yamāniyya, and they appeared there. Then they fell upon the governor appointed by al-Muʿtaṣim, who was Ibn ʿUmayra b. al-Walīd al-Bādhaghīsī, and killed him in Rabīʿ al-Awwal of the year two hundred and fourteen. Al-Muʿtaṣim marched to Egypt, fought the two, killed them, and conquered Egypt. Its affairs became settled, and he appointed his own governors over it.
