The Year 210 AH
ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ سَنَةُ عَشْرٍ وَمِائَتَيْنِ فَمِنَ الْحَوَادِثِ فِيهَا: وُصُولُ نَصْرِ بْنِ شَبَثٍ إِلَى بَغْدَادَ، وَكَانَ الْمَأْمُونُ قَدْ أَرْسَلَهُ فِي زَمَنِ مُحَارَبَتِهِ بِالطَّفِّ فَأَذْعَنَ، فَاشْتَرَطَ أَنْ لَا يَطَأُ بِسَاطَهُ، فَقَالَ: لَا أُقْلِعُ عَنْهُ حَتَّى يَطَأَ بِسَاطِي، فَحَضَرَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاهِرٍ حَتَّى طَلَبَ الْأَمَانَ وَأَقْدَمَهُ عَلَى الْمَأْمُونِ فِي يَوْمِ الثُّلَاثَاءِ لِسَبْعٍ خَلَوْنَ مِنْ صَفَرٍ فَأَنْزَلَهُ مَدِينَةَ الْمَنْصُورِ وَوَكَّلَ بِهِ مَنْ يَحْفَظُهُ.
Translation
✧ Then the year 210 AH began. Among the events in it: The arrival of Naṣr b. Shabath in Baghdad. Al-Maʾmūn had sent him during the time of his fighting at al-Ṭaff, and he submitted. He stipulated that he would not tread upon his carpet. He said: I will not desist from him until he treads upon my carpet. ʿAbd Allāh b. Ṭāhir attended to him until he sought amnesty and brought him before al-Maʾmūn on Tuesday, seven nights having passed of Ṣafar. He lodged him in the City of al-Manṣūr and appointed someone to guard him.
