Translation
✧ In this year, in the city of Tudmīr, a dissension broke out between the Muḍariyyah and the Yamāniyyah. They fought at Lūraqah, and there was among them an engagement known as the Day of al-Maḍārrah. Three thousand men were killed among them, and the war between them lasted seven years. He appointed Yaḥyā b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Khālid to restrain them and prevent them, and he dispatched him with the entire army. Whenever they sensed the approach of Yaḥyā, they would disperse and abandon fighting, and when he turned away from them, they would return to dissension and fighting, until their affair exhausted him.
