The Year 205 AH
وَفِيهَا قَدِمَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاهِرِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بَغْدَاذَ مِنَ الرَّقَّةِ، وَكَانَ أَبُوهُ اسْتَخْلَفَهُ بِهَا، وَأَمَرَهُ بِقِتَالِ نَصْرِ بْنِ شَبَثٍ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ إِلَى بَغْدَاذَ جَعَلَهُ الْمَأْمُونُ عَلَى الشُّرْطَةِ بَعْدَ مَسِيرِ أَبِيهِ، وَوَلَّى الْمَأْمُونُ يَحْيَى بْنَ مُعَاذٍ الْجَزِيرَةَ، وَوَلَّى عِيسَى بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ أَرْمِينِيَّةَ وَأَذْرَبِيجَانَ وَمُحَارَبَةَ بَابَكَ. وَفِيهَا مَاتَ السَّرِيُّ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ بِمِصْرَ، وَكَانَ وَالِيَهَا. وَفِيهَا مَاتَ دَاوُدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَامِلُ السِّنْدِ، فَوَلَّاهَا الْمَأْمُونُ بَشِيرَ بْنَ دَاوُدَ عَلَى أَنْ يَحْمِلَ كُلَّ سَنَةٍ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ. وَفِيهَا وَلَّى الْمَأْمُونُ عِيسَى بْنَ يَزِيدَ الْجُلُودِيَّ مُحَارَبَةَ الزُّطِّ.
Translation
✧ In this year, ʿAbd Allāh b. Ṭāhir b. al-Ḥusayn came to Baghdādh from al-Raqqah. His father had appointed him as his deputy there and ordered him to fight Naṣr b. Shabath. When he arrived in Baghdādh, al-Maʾmūn placed him in charge of the shurṭah after his father's departure. Al-Maʾmūn appointed Yaḥyā b. Muʿādh over al-Jazīrah, and appointed ʿĪsā b. Muḥammad b. Abī Khālid over Armīniyyah and Adharbayjān, and the war against Bābak. In this year, al-Sarī b. al-Ḥakam died in Miṣr; he was its governor. In this year, Dāwūd b. Yazīd, the governor of al-Sind, died. Al-Maʾmūn appointed Bashīr b. Dāwūd over it on condition that he would pay one million dirhams each year. In this year, al-Maʾmūn appointed ʿĪsā b. Yazīd al-Julūdī to fight the Zuṭṭ.
