ذِكْرُ عِدَّةِ حَوَادِثَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ وَجَّهَ الْمَأْمُونُ رَجَاءَ بْنَ أَبِي الضَّحَّاكِ لِإِحْضَارِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ) . وَأُحْصِيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ وَلَدُ الْعَبَّاسِ فَبَلَغُوا ثَلَاثَةً وَثَلَاثِينَ أَلْفًا مَا بَيْنَ ذَكَرٍ وَأُنْثَى. وَفِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ قَتَلَتِ الرُّومُ مَلِكَهَا أَلْيُونَ، وَكَانَ مُلْكُهُ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ وَسِتَّةَ أَشْهُرٍ، وَمَلَّكُوا عَلَيْهِمْ مِيخَائِيلَ بْنَ جُورْجِيشَ ثَانِيَةً. وَفِيهَا خَالَفَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَلَى الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، فَبَعَثَ الْمَأْمُونُ إِلَيْهِ بِسَرَّاجٍ الْخَادِمِ وَقَالَ لَهُ: إِنْ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِي يَدِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ أَوْ شَخَصَ إِلَيَّ بِمَرْوَ، وَإِلَّا فَاضْرِبْ عُنُقَهُ، فَسَارَ إِلَيْهِ سَرَّاجٌ فَأَطَاعَ، وَتَوَجَّهَ إِلَى الْمَأْمُونِ بِمَرْوَ مَعَ هَرْثَمَةَ. وَفِيهَا قَتَلَ الْمَأْمُونُ يَحْيَى بْنَ عَامِرِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ; لِأَنَّهُ قَالَ لَهُ: يَا أَمِيرَ الْكَافِرِينَ.
Translation
✧ Mention of several events In this year, al-Maʾmūn dispatched Rajāʾ b. Abī al-Ḍaḥḥāk to bring ʿAlī b. Mūsā b. Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad ). In this year, the descendants of al-ʿAbbās were counted, and they reached thirty-three thousand, between male and female. In this year, the Byzantines killed their king Alyūn; his reign had lasted seven years and six months, and they made Mīkhāʾīl b. Jūrjish king over them a second time. In it, ʿAlī b. Abī Saʿīd rebelled against al-Ḥasan b. Sahl, so al-Maʾmūn sent Sarrāj the servant to him and said to him: "If he places his hand in the hand of al-Ḥasan b. Sahl or sets out to me at Marw, [leave him]; otherwise, strike his neck." Sarrāj went to him, and he obeyed, and he set out to al-Maʾmūn at Marw with Harthama. In it, al-Maʾmūn killed Yaḥyā b. ʿĀmir b. Ismāʿīl because he said to him: "O Commander of the disbelievers."
