ذِكْرُ عِدَّةِ حَوَادِثَ وَفِي سنة سبع وثمانين ومائة ثَارَتِ الْعَصَبِيَّةُ أَيْضًا بِالشَّامِ بَيْنَ الْمُضَرِيَّةِ وَالْيَمَانِيَةِ، فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِمُ الرَّشِيدُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ فَأَصْلَحَ بَيْنِهِمْ. وَفِيهَا كَانَتْ زَلْزَلَةٌ عَظِيمَةٌ بِالْمِصِّيصَةِ، فَانْهَدَمَ بَعْضُ سُورِهَا، وَنَضَبَ مَاؤُهُمْ سَاعَةً مِنَ اللَّيْلِ . وَفِيهَا خَرَجَ عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بِآمِدَ، فَحَكَّمَ، فَقَتَلَهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ. وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ.

Translation

✧ Mention of Several Events In the year one hundred and eighty-seven, factional strife also erupted in Syria between the Muḍariyyah and the Yamāniyyah. Al-Rashīd sent Muḥammad b. Manṣūr b. Ziyād to them, and he made peace between them. In this year there was a great earthquake at al-Maṣṣīṣah, and part of its wall collapsed, and their water dried up for an hour of the night. In this year ʿAbd al-Salām rose up at Āmid and set himself up as judge, and Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd al-ʿUqaylī killed him. ʿUbayd Allāh b. ʿAbbās b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī led the people in the pilgrimage in this year.
