The year 173 AH
وَفِي سنة ثلاث وسبعين ومائة اسْتَقْدَمَ الرَّشِيدُ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْأَشْعَثِ مِنْ خُرَاسَانَ، وَاسْتَعْمَلَ عَلَيْهَا ابْنَهُ الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ، وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ الرَّشِيدُ، أَحْرَمَ مِنْ بَغْدَاذَ .
Translation
✧ In the year one hundred and seventy-three AH, al-Rashīd summoned Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad b. al-Ashʿath from Khurāsān, and appointed over it his son al-ʿAbbās b. Jaʿfar. Al-Rashīd led the people in the Pilgrimage; he entered iḥrām from Baghdādh.
