Translation
✧ Mention of the Preserved Tablet The ḥāfiẓ Abū al-Qāsim al-Ṭabarānī said with his chain of transmission on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: “Indeed Allah created a Preserved Tablet of a white pearl; its pages are of red ruby; its pen is light, and its writing is light. For Allah therein each day are three hundred and sixty glances: He creates and provides, causes death and gives life, honours and abases, and does whatever He wills.” And Isḥāq b. Bishr said with his chain of transmission on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, who said: “Indeed at the top of the Tablet is: ‘There is no god but Allah alone; His religion is Islam; and Muḥammad is His servant and Messenger. So whoever believes in Allah, attests to His promise, and follows His messengers, He will admit him to Paradise.’” He said: “The Tablet is a tablet of white pearl; its length is what is between the heaven and the earth, and its width is what is between the east and the west. Its two edges are pearl and ruby, and its two covers are red ruby. Its pen is light, and its speech is bound to the Throne, and its origin is in the lap of an angel.” And Anas b. Mālik and others among the early generations said: “The Preserved Tablet is upon the forehead of Isrāfīl.” And Muqātil said: “It is to the right of the Throne.”
