Then the year 155 AH began
ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ سَنَةُ خَمْسٍ وَخَمْسِينَ وَمِائَةٍ فِيهَا دَخَلَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ بِلَادَ إِفْرِيقِيَّةَ، فَافْتَتَحَهَا عَوْدًا عَلَى بَدْءٍ، وَقَتَلَ مَنْ كَانَ تَغَلَّبَ عَلَيْهَا مِنَ الْخَوَارِجِ، وَقَتَلَ أُمَرَاءَهُمْ، وَأَصْغَرَ كُبَرَاءَهُمْ، وَأَذَلَّ أَشْرَافَهُمْ، وَأَرْغَمَ آنَافَهُمْ، وَبَدَّدَ آلَافَهُمْ، وَاسْتَبْدَلَ أَهْلُ الْبِلَادِ هُنَاكَ بِالْخَوْفِ سَلَامَةً، وَبِالْإِهَانَةِ كَرَامَةً، وَكَانَ فِي جُمْلَةِ مَنْ قَتَلَ مِنْ أُمَرَائِهِمْ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ وَأَبُو عَبَّادٍ الْخَارِجِيَّانِ. ثُمَّ لَمَّا اسْتَقَامَتْ لَهُ وَبِهِ الْأُمُورُ فِي الْبُلْدَانِ دَخَلَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ بِلَادَ الْقَيْرَوَانِ، فَمَهَّدَهَا وَأَطَّدَهَا، وَأَقَرَّ أَهْلَهَا، وَقَرَّرَ أُمُورَهَا، وَأَزَالَ مَحْذُورَهَا.
Translation
✧ Then the year 155 AH began In it Yazīd b. Ḥātim entered the land of Ifrīqiyyah, and he conquered it anew from the beginning, and he killed those of the Khawārij who had overcome it, and he killed their commanders, and he humbled their great ones, and he abased their nobles, and he crushed their noses, and he scattered their thousands, and the people of the lands there exchanged fear for safety, and humiliation for honor. Among the commanders of theirs whom he killed were the two Khārijīs Abū Ḥātim and Abū ʿAbbād. Then when matters in the lands became straight for him and through him, he entered after that the land of al-Qayrawān, and he smoothed it and consolidated it, and he settled its people, and he regulated its affairs, and he removed its causes of fear.
