Then the year 147 AH began

ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ سَنَةُ سَبْعٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ وَمِائَةٍ ذِكْرُ قَتْلِ حَرْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِيهَا أَغَارَ أَسْتَرْخَانُ الْخَوَارِزْمِيُّ فِي جَمْعٍ مِنَ التُّرْكِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ بِنَاحِيَةِ إِرْمِينِيَّةَ وَسَبَى مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ خَلْقًا وَدَخَلُوا تَفْلِيسَ، وَكَانَ حَرْبٌ مُقِيمًا بِالْمَوْصِلِ فِي أَلْفَيْنِ مِنَ الْجُنْدِ لِمَكَانِ الْخَوَارِجِ الَّذِينَ بِالْجَزِيرَةِ، وَسَيَّرَ الْمَنْصُورُ إِلَى مُحَارَبَةِ التُّرْكِ جَبْرَائِيلَ بْنَ يَحْيَى وَحَرْبَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، فَقَاتَلُوهُمْ، فَهُزِمَ جَبْرَائِيلُ وَقُتِلَ حَرْبٌ، وَقُتِلَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ جَبْرَائِيلَ خَلْقٌ كَثِيرٌ.

Translation

✧ Then the year 147 AH began Mention of the killing of Ḥarb b. ʿAbd Allāh In it, Astarkhān al-Khawārizmī raided with a group of Turks against the Muslims in the region of Armenia, and took captive many Muslims and dhimmīs, and they entered Tiflīs. Ḥarb was stationed at al-Mawṣil with two thousand soldiers because of the Kharijites who were in al-Jazīrah. Al-Manṣūr dispatched Jabrāʾīl b. Yaḥyā and Ḥarb b. ʿAbd Allāh to fight the Turks. They fought them, and Jabrāʾīl was defeated and Ḥarb was killed, and many of Jabrāʾīl's companions were killed.
