Then the year 145 AH began
وَفِيهَا عَزَلَ الْمَنْصُورُ مَالِكَ بْنَ الْهَيْثَمِ عَنِ الْمَوْصِلِ بِابْنِهِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الْمَنْصُورِ، وَسَيَّرَ مَعَهُ حَرْبَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَهُوَ مِنْ أَكَابِرِ قُوَّادِهِ، وَهُوَ صَاحِبُ الْحَرْبِيَّةِ بِبَغْدَادَ، وَبَنَى بِأَسْفَلِ الْمَوْصِلِ قَصْرًا وَسَكَنَهُ، فَهُوَ يُعْرَفُ إِلَى الْيَوْمِ بِقَصْرِ حَرْبٍ، وَفِيهِ وُلِدَتْ زُبَيْدَةُ بِنْتُ جَعْفَرٍ زَوْجَةُ الرَّشِيدِ. وَعِنْدَهُ يَوْمَنَا هَذَا قَرْيَةٌ كَانَتْ مِلْكًا لَنَا، فَبَنَيْنَا فِيهَا رِبَاطًا لِلصُّوفِيَّةِ وَقَفْنَا الْقَرْيَةَ عَلَيْهِ، قَدْ جَمَعْتُ كَثِيرًا مِنْ هَذَا الْكِتَابِ فِي هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ فِي دَارٍ لَنَا بِهَا، وَهِيَ مِنْ أَنْزَهِ الْمَوَاضِعِ وَأَحْسَنِهَا، وَأَثَرُ الْقَصْرِ بَاقٍ بِهَا إِلَى الْآنَ. سُبْحَانَ مَنْ لَا يَزُولُ وَلَا تُغَيِّرُهُ الدُّهُورُ.
Translation
✧ In it al-Manṣūr dismissed Mālik b. al-Haytham from al-Mawṣil, appointing his son Jaʿfar b. Abī Jaʿfar al-Manṣūr, and sent with him Ḥarb b. ʿAbd Allāh, one of his senior commanders, the one after whom al-Ḥarbiyyah in Baghdad is named. He built a palace in lower al-Mawṣil and lived in it, and to this day it is known as Qaṣr Ḥarb. In it was born Zubaydah bt. Jaʿfar, the wife of al-Rashīd. At the present day there is near it a village that belonged to us. We built in it a Sufi hostel and made the village an endowment for it. I compiled much of this book in that village, in a house of ours there. It is one of the most pleasant and beautiful places, and the remains of the palace are still there to this day. Glory be to Him who does not pass away and whom the ages do not change.
