Then the year 143 AH began

وَفِيهَا عُزِلَ الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ مَكَّةَ وَالطَّائِفِ، وَوَلِيَ ذَلِكَ السَّرِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ، وَكَانَ عَلَى الْيَمَامَةِ، فَسَارَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ، وَاسْتَعْمَلَ الْمَنْصُورُ عَلَى الْيَمَامَةِ قُثَمَ بْنَ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ.

Translation

✧ In it, al-Haytham b. Muʿāwiyah was dismissed from Makkah and al-Ṭāʾif, and al-Sarī b. ʿAbd Allāh b. al-Ḥārith b. al-ʿAbbās was appointed over that, and he was over al-Yamāmah. So he traveled to Makkah, and al-Manṣūr appointed Qutham b. ʿAbbās b. ʿAbd Allāh over al-Yamāmah.
