Then the Year 133 AH Began
وَفِيهَا عُزِلَ يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْمَوْصِلِ، وَاسْتُعْمِلَ مَكَانَهُ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ . وَإِنَّمَا عُزِلَ يَحْيَى لِقَتْلِهِ أَهْلَ الْمَوْصِلِ )، وَسُوءِ أَثَرِهِ فِيهِمْ. وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةَ زِيَادُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَارِثِيُّ. وَكَانَ الْعُمَّالُ مَنْ ذَكَرْنَا إِلَّا الْحِجَازَ وَالْيَمَنَ وَالْمَوْصِلَ، فَقَدْ ذَكَرْنَا مَنِ اسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَيْهَا.
Translation
✧ In that year Yaḥyā b. Muḥammad was dismissed from al-Mawṣil, and Ismāʿīl b. ʿAlī was appointed in his place. Yaḥyā was dismissed only because he had killed the people of al-Mawṣil and because of the evil mark he left among them. That year Ziyād b. ʿUbayd Allāh al-Ḥārithī led the people in the pilgrimage. The governors were those we have mentioned, except for the Ḥijāz, al-Yaman, and al-Mawṣil, for whom we have mentioned those appointed over them.
