وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، وَهُوَ كَانَ عَامِلَ الْمَدِينَةِ وَمَكَّةَ وَالطَّائِفِ. وَعَلَى الْعِرَاقِ يُوسُفُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، وَعَلَى خُرَاسَانَ نَصْرُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ، وَعَلَى إِرْمِينِيَّةَ وَأَذْرَبِيجَانَ مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَلَى قَضَاءِ الْبَصْرَةِ عَامِرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ، وَعَلَى قَضَاءِ الْكُوفَةِ ابْنُ شُبْرُمَةَ. وَفِيهَا فَرَغَ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَامِلُ الْمَوْصِلِ مِنْ حَفْرِ النَّهْرِ الَّذِي أَدْخَلَهُ الْبَلَدَ، وَكَانَ مَبْلَغُ النَّفَقَةِ عَلَيْهِ ثَمَانِيَةَ آلَافِ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ، وَجَعَلَ عَلَيْهِ ثَمَانِيَةَ أَحْجَارٍ تَطْحَنُ، وَوَقَفَ هِشَامٌ هَذِهِ الْأَرْحَاءَ عَلَى عَمَلِ النَّهْرِ.
Translation
✧ In this year Muhammad b. Hishām b. Ismāʿīl al-Makhzūmī led the people in the pilgrimage, and he was the governor of Madinah, Makkah, and al-Ṭāʾif. Over Iraq was Yūsuf b. ʿUmar, over Khurāsān Naṣr b. Sayyār, over Armenia and Azerbaijan Marwān b. Muḥammad, over the judiciary of al-Baṣrah ʿĀmir b. ʿUbaydah, and over the judiciary of al-Kūfah Ibn Shubrumah. In it al-Walīd b. Bukayr, the governor of al-Mawṣil, finished digging the canal that he brought into the city. The expenditure on it amounted to eight million dirhams, and he placed upon it eight millstones that ground, and Hishām endowed these mills for the maintenance of the canal.
