غَزْوِ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ   وَفِي سَنَةِ إِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ غَزَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ إِرْمِينِيَّةَ وَهُوَ وَالِيهَا، فَأَتَى قَلْعَةَ بَيْتِ السَّرِيرِ فَقَتَلَ وَسَبَى، ثُمَّ أَتَى قَلْعَةً ثَانِيَةً فَقَتَلَ وَسَبَى، وَدَخَلَ غُومِيكَ وَهُوَ حِصْنٌ فِيهِ بَيْتُ الْمَلِكِ وَسَرِيرُهُ، فَهَرَبَ الْمَلِكُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى أَتَى حِصْنًا يُقَالُ لَهُ خَيْزَجُ فِيهِ السَّرِيرُ الذَّهَبُ، فَسَارَ إِلَيْهِ مَرْوَانُ وَنَازَلَهُ صَيْفِيَّتَهُ وَشِتْوِيَّتَهُ، فَصَالَحَ الْمَلِكَ عَلَى أَلْفِ رَأْسٍ كُلَّ سَنَةٍ وَمِائَةِ أَلْفِ مُدْيٍ، وَسَارَ مَرْوَانُ فَدَخَلَ أَرْضَ ازْرُوبَطْرَانَ، فَصَالَحَهُ مَلِكُهَا، ثُمَّ سَارَ فِي أَرْضِ تُومَانَ فَصَالَحَهُ، وَسَارَ حَتَّى أَتَى حَمْزِينَ فَأَخْرَبَ بِلَادَهُ وَحَصَرَ حِصْنًا لَهُ شَهْرًا فَصَالَحَهُ، ثُمَّ أَتَى مَرْوَانُ أَرْضَ مَسْدَازَ فَافْتَتَحَهَا عَلَى صُلْحٍ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ مَرْوَانُ كِيرَانَ فَصَالَحَهُ طَبَرِسْرَانَ وَفِيلَانَ، وَكُلُّ هَذِهِ الْوِلَايَاتِ عَلَى شَاطِئِ الْبَحْرِ مِنْ إِرْمِينِيَّةَ إِلَى طَبَرِسْتَانَ.

Translation

✧ The Expedition of Marwān b. Muḥammad b. Marwān In the year one hundred and twenty-one, Marwān b. Muḥammad raided from Armenia, and he was its governor. He came to the fortress of Bayt al-Sarīr, and he killed and took captives. Then he came to a second fortress, and he killed and took captives. He entered Ghūmīk, which is a stronghold containing the king's house and his throne. The king fled from it until he came to a fortress called Khayzaj, in which was the golden throne. Marwān marched against it and besieged it during his summer and his winter. He made peace with the king on the basis of a thousand heads every year and a hundred thousand mudy. Marwān marched on and entered the land of Azrūbaṭrān, and its king made peace with him. Then he marched in the land of Tūmān, and its king made peace with him. He marched until he came to Ḥamzīn, and he laid waste his lands and besieged a fortress of his for a month, then he made peace with him. Then Marwān came to the land of Masdāz and conquered it by treaty. Then Marwān encamped at Kīrān, and Ṭabarīsrān and Fīlān made peace with him. All these provinces are on the seacoast from Armenia to Ṭabaristān.
