ذِكْرُ عِدَّةِ حَوَادِثَ وفِي سنة عشر ومائة جَمَعَ خَالِدٌ الْقَسْرِيُّ الصَّلَاةَ وَالْأَحْدَاثَ وَالشُّرَطَ وَالْقَضَاءَ بِالْبَصْرَةِ لِبِلَالِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، وَعَزَلَ ثُمَامَةَ عَنِ الْقَضَاءِ. وَفِيهَا غَزَا مُعَاوِيَةُ الرُّومَ فَفَتَحَ صِمْلَةَ . وَفِيهَا غَزَا الصَّائِفَةَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ الْفِهْرِيُّ ، وَكَانَ عَلَى جَيْشِ الْبَحْرِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حُدَيْجٍ، ( بِضَمِّ الْحَاءِ وَفَتْحِ الدَّالِ الْمُهْمَلَتَيْنِ ). وَفِيهَا أَرْسَلَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ هِشَامٌ، عُبَيْدَةَ إِلَى إِفْرِيقِيَّةَ مُتَوَلِّيًا عَلَيْهَا، فَلَمَّا وَصَلَ جَهَّزَ ابْنَهُ وَأَخَاهُ فِي جَيْشٍ، فَالْتَقَوْا مَعَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَتَلُوا مِنْهُمْ خَلْقًا كَثِيرًا، وَأَسَرُوا بِطْرِيقَهُمْ، وَانْهَزَمَ بِاقِيهِمْ، وَغَنِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْهُمْ شَيْئًا كَثِيرًا. وَفِيهَا فَتَحَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حِصْنَيْنِ مِنْ بِلَادِ الرُّومِ وَغَنِمَ غَنَائِمَ جَمَّةً.
Translation
✧ Mention of Several Events In the year one hundred and ten, Khālid al-Qasrī combined the prayer, the ḥadath (youths), the police, and the judiciary in al-Baṣrah under Bilāl b. Abī Bakrah, and he dismissed Thumāmah from the judiciary. In it, Muʿāwiyah raided the Byzantines and conquered Ṣimlah. In it, ʿAbdallāh b. ʿUqbah al-Fihrī led the summer expedition, and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Muʿāwiyah b. Ḥudayj was in command of the naval force (with ḍammah on the ḥāʾ and fatḥah on the unpointed dāl). In it, the Commander of the Faithful Hishām sent ʿUbaydah to Ifrīqiyah as its governor. When he arrived, he equipped his son and his brother in an army. They met the polytheists and killed many of them, captured their patrician, and the rest of them were routed. The Muslims gained much booty from them. In it, Muʿāwiyah b. Hishām conquered two fortresses in the territory of the Byzantines and gained abundant spoils.
