Chapter mentioning a group of the prophets of the Israelites after Mūsā (peace be upon him)
مَاتَ حِزْقِيلُ، وَلَمْ تُذْكَرْ مُدَّتُهُ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. فَلَمَّا قُبِضَ نَسِيَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ عَهْدَ اللَّهِ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَعَظُمَتْ فِيهِمُ الْأَحْدَاثُ، وَعَبَدُوا الْأَوْثَانَ، وَكَانَ فِي جُمْلَةِ مَا يَعْبُدُونَهُ مِنَ الْأَصْنَامِ، صَنَمٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ: بَعْلٌ. فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِمْ إِلْيَاسَ بْنَ يَاسِيَنَ بْنِ فِنْحَاصَ بْنِ الْعَيْزَارِ بْنِ هَارُونَ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ.
Translation
✧ Ḥizqīl ﷺ died, and his duration among the Children of Israel was not mentioned. When he passed away, the Children of Israel forgot the covenant of God to them, and grave sins became great among them, and they worshipped idols. Among the idols they worshipped was an idol called Baʿl. So God sent to them Ilyās b. Yāsīn b. Finḥāṣ b. al-ʿAyzār b. Hārūn b. ʿImrān.
