The Year 105
دُعَاةِ بَنِي عَبَّاسٍ قِيلَ: وَفِي سنة خمس ومائة قَوِيَ أَمْرُ دَعْوَةِ بَنِي الْعَبَّاسِ فِي السِّرِّ بِأَرْضِ الْعِرَاقِ حيث قَدِمَ بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَاهَانَ مِنَ السِّنْدِ، وَكَانَ بِهَا مَعَ الْجُنَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ. فَلَمَّا عُزِلَ الْجُنَيْدُ قَدِمَ بُكَيْرٌ الْكُوفَةَ، وَمَعَهُ أَرْبَعُ لَبِنَاتٍ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، وَلَبِنَةٌ مِنْ ذَهَبَ، فَلَقِيَ أَبَا عِكْرِمَةَ الصَّادِقَ وَمَيْسَرَةَ وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ خُنَيْسٍ، وَسَالِمًا الْأَعْيَنَ، وَأَبَا يَحْيَى مَوْلَى بَنِي سَلِمَةَ، فَذَكَرُوا لَهُ أَمْرَ دَعْوَةِ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، فَقَبِل ذَلِكَ وَرَضِيَهُ وَأَنْفَقَ مَا مَعَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَدَخَلَ إِلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، وَمَاتَ مَيْسَرَةُ فَأَقَامَهُ مَقَامَهُ.
Translation
✧ The Callers of Banū ʿAbbās It is said: In the year 105, the affair of the call of Banū al-ʿAbbās strengthened in secret in the land of Iraq, when Bukayr b. Māhān arrived from al-Sind, where he had been with al-Junayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān. When al-Junayd was dismissed, Bukayr came to al-Kūfah, and with him were four bricks of silver and one brick of gold. He met Abū ʿIkrimah al-Ṣādiq, Maysarah, Muḥammad b. Khunays, Sālim al-Aʿyan, and Abū Yaḥyā, the mawlā of Banū Salimah. They mentioned to him the affair of the call of Banū Hāshim, and he accepted that and approved of it, and spent what he had with him on them. He entered upon Muḥammad b. ʿAlī; and Maysarah died, so he appointed him in his place.
