The Year 101

وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ فِي سنة إحدى ومائة عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ أَمِيرُ الْمَدِينَةِ. وَعَلَى مَكَّةَ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ أُسَيْدٍ، وَعَلَى الْكُوفَةِ عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، وَعَلَى قَضَائِهَا عَامِرٌ الشَّعْبِيُّ، وَعَلَى الْبَصْرَةِ يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْمُهَلَّبِ قَدِ اسْتَحْوَذَ عَلَيْهَا وَخَلَعَ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَزِيدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ. وَكَانَ عَلَى خُرَاسَانَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ نُعَيْمٍ.

Translation

✧ ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. Qays, governor of Madinah, led the people in the pilgrimage in the year 101. Over Makkah was ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Khālid b. Usayd; over Kufa was ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Zayd b. al-Khaṭṭāb, and over its judiciary was ʿĀmir al-Shaʿbī; over Basra was Yazīd b. al-Muhallab, who had taken control of it and renounced the Commander of the Faithful Yazīd b. ʿAbd al-Malik. Over Khurasan was ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Nuʿaym.
