The story of Moses the one who spoke with Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)
[ يُوشَعَ بْنِ نُونٍ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ] هُوَ يُوشَعُ بْنُ نُونِ بْنِ أَفْرَايِيمَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْخَلِيلِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ، وَأَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ يَقُولُونَ: يُوشَعُ بْنُ عَمِّ هُودٍ. وَقَدْ ذَكَرَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى فِي الْقُرْآنِ غَيْرَ مُصَرَّحٍ بِاسْمِهِ فِي قِصَّةِ الْخَضِرِ، كَمَا تَقَدَّمَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِفَتَاهُ [ الْكَهْفِ: 60 ]. فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَا قَالَ لِفَتَاهُ [ الْكَهْفِ: 62 ]. وَقَدَّمْنَا مَا ثَبَتَ فِي " الصَّحِيحِ "، مِنْ رِوَايَةِ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، ؓ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، مِنْ أَنَّهُ يُوشَعُ بْنُ نُونٍ
Translation
✧ [Yūshaʿ b. Nūn ﷺ ] He is Yūshaʿ b. Nūn b. Afrāyīm b. Yūsuf b. Yaʿqūb b. Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm al-Khalīl (peace be upon them), and the People of the Book say: Yūshaʿ b. ʿamm Hūd. Allah the Exalted mentioned him in the Qurʾān without stating his name explicitly in the story of al-Khaḍir, as previously mentioned in His saying: “And when Mūsā said to his boy” [al-Kahf: 60]. “So when they had passed beyond it, he said to his boy” [al-Kahf: 62]. We previously presented what is established in the “Ṣaḥīḥ” from the narration of Ubayy b. Kaʿb ؓ, from the Prophet ﷺ, that he is Yūshaʿ b. Nūn.
