The Year 96
وَفِيهَا حَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ، وَكَانَ هُوَ الْأَمِيرَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَعَلَى مَكَّةَ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ أُسَيْدٍ، وَعَلَى حَرْبِ الْعِرَاقِ وَصَلَاتِهَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْمُهَلَّبِ، وَعَلَى خَرَاجِهَا صَالِحُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، وَعَلَى نِيَابَةِ الْبَصْرَةِ لِيَزِيدَ بْنِ الْمُهَلَّبِ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْكِنْدِيُّ، وَعَلَى قَضَائِهَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أُذَيْنَةَ، وَعَلَى قَضَاءِ الْكُوفَةِ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى، وَعَلَى حَرْبِ خُرَاسَانَ وَكِيعُ بْنُ أَبِي سُودٍ.
Translation
✧ In this year, Abū Bakr b. Muḥammad b. ʿAmr b. Ḥazm led the people in the pilgrimage. He was the governor over Madinah, and over Makkah was ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Khālid b. Usayd. Over the military affairs and prayer of Iraq was Yazīd b. al-Muhallab, and over its land tax was Ṣāliḥ b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān. As deputy of Yazīd b. al-Muhallab over Baṣrah was Sufyān b. ʿAbd Allāh al-Kindī, and over its judiciary was ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Udhaynah. Over the judiciary of Kūfah was Abū Bakr b. Abī Mūsā, and over the military affairs of Khurāsān was Wakīʿ b. Abī Sūd.
