The Year 66 AH
مَنْ تُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ مِنَ الْأَكَابِرِ أسماء بن حارثة أَسْمَاءُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: كَانَ مُحْتَاجًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الصُّفَّةِ، تُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَمَانِينَ سَنَةً. وَقِيلَ: بَلْ مَاتَ بِالْبَصْرَةِ فِي إِمَارَةِ ابْنِ زِيَادٍ. جابر بن سمرة وَتُوُفِّيَ جَابِرُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أُخْتِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، وَقِيلَ: مَاتَ فِي إِمَارَةِ بِشْرِ بْنِ هَارُونَ. أسماء بن خارجة وَتُوُفِّيَ أَسْمَاءُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ حِصْنِ بْنِ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ بَدْرٍ الْفَزَارِيُّ سَيِّدُ قَوْمِهِ.
Translation
✧ Those of the notables who died in this year: Asmāʾ b. Ḥārithah: Asmāʾ b. Ḥārithah b. Saʿīd b. ʿAbd Allāh: He was among the needy of the people of al-Ṣuffah. He died in this year, at the age of eighty years. It was also said: rather, he died in al-Baṣrah during the governorship of Ibn Ziyād. Jābir b. Samurah: And Jābir b. Samurah died; he was the son of the sister of Saʿd b. Abī Waqqāṣ. It was also said: he died during the governorship of Bishr b. Hārūn. Asmāʾ b. Khārijah: And Asmāʾ b. Khārijah b. Ḥiṣn b. Ḥudhayfah b. Badr al-Fazārī, the chief of his people, died.
