The caliphate of Muʿāwiyah b. Abī Sufyān
وفي سنة خمسين حَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ مُعَاوِيَةُ ، وَقِيلَ: ابْنُهُ يَزِيدُ. وَكَانَ نَائِبَ الْمَدِينَةِ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْعَاصِ، وَعَلَى الْكُوفَةِ وَالْبَصْرَةِ وَالْمَشْرِقِ وَسِجِسْتَانَ وَفَارِسَ وَالسِّنْدِ وَالْهِنْدِ زِيَادٌ.
Translation
✧ In the year 50 AH, Muʿāwiyah performed the ḥajj with the people; and it is said: his son Yazīd. The governor of Madinah in this year was Saʿīd b. al-ʿĀṣ, and over Kufah, Basrah, the East, Sijistān, Fāris, al-Sind, and al-Hind was Ziyād.
