The messengers of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his correspondence to the kings and the like
إِرْسَالِهِ ﷺ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ الْأَزْدِيَّ أَحَدَ بَنِي الْمُهَلَّبِ - بِفَتْحِ الْمِيمِ وَسُكُونِ الْهَاءِ ؓ إِلَى مَلِكِ الرُّومِ ، وَقِيلَ إِلَى صَاحِبِ بُصْرَى، فَقَتَلَهُ شُرَحْبِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْغَسَّانِيُّ، فَبَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِعْثَةً إِلَى مُؤْتَةَ بِسَبَبِهِ.
Translation
✧ His sending ﷺ al-Ḥārith b. ʿUmayr al-Azdī, one of the Banū al-Muhallab—with a fatḥah on the mīm and a sukūn on the hāʾ ؓ—to the king of the Romans, and it was said to the governor of Buṣrā, but Shuraḥbīl b. ʿAmr al-Ghassānī killed him. So the Prophet ﷺ sent an expedition to Muʾtah because of that.
