Translation

✧ Mention of the poetry of ʿAbbās b. Mirdās ؓ advising Hawāzin Convey to Hawāzin, its high and its low, from me a message of counsel in which there is clear explanation: I think the Messenger of Allah ﷺ will come upon you at dawn with an army that has in the open spaces of the earth its pillars. Among them are Sulaym, your brother, who will not forsake you, and the Muslims, the servants of Allah, Ghassān. On his right flank are Banū Asad, and al-Ajrabān: Banū ʿAbs and Dhubyān. The earth almost quakes from it, in fear of him, and in his vanguard are Aws and ʿUthmān. Ibn Isḥāq said: Aws and ʿUthmān are the two clans of Muzaynah.
