The Compensatory ʿUmrah
عُمْرَةُ الْقَضَاءِ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ سَنَةَ سَبْعٍ [ خُرُوجُ الرَّسُولِ مُعْتَمِرًا فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إلَى الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ، أَقَامَ بِهَا شَهْرَيْ رَبِيعٍ وَجُمَادَيَيْنِ وَرَجَبًا وَشَعْبَانَ وَرَمَضَانَ وَشَوَّالًا، يَبْعَثُ فِيمَا بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ غَزْوِهِ وَسَرَايَاهُ ﷺ. حَتَّى اسْتَهَلَّ ذُو الْقَعْدَةِ، ثُمَّ نَادَى فِي النَّاسِ بِالْخُرُوجِ. قَالَ مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ: ثُمَّ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ منَ الْعَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ مِنْ عَامِ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ مُعْتَمِرًا فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ سَنَةَ سَبْعٍ، وَهُوَ الشَّهْرُ الَّذِي صَدَّهُ فِيهِ الْمُشْرِكُونَ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ
Translation
✧ The Compensatory ʿUmrah in Dhū al-Qaʿdah, year seven [ The Messenger's Departure for ʿUmrah in Dhū al-Qaʿdah ] Ibn Isḥāq said: When the Messenger of God ﷺ returned to Madinah from Khaybar, he stayed there through the two months of Rabīʿ, the two Jumādās, Rajab, Shaʿbān, Ramaḍān, and Shawwāl, despatching in the midst of that his expeditions and raiding parties ﷺ, until Dhū al-Qaʿdah began; then he called out among the people to depart. Mūsā b. ʿUqbah said: Then the Messenger of God ﷺ departed in the following year after the year of al-Ḥudaybiyah to perform ʿumrah in Dhū al-Qaʿdah, year seven, which is the month in which the polytheists had turned him away from the Sacred Mosque.
