Translation

✧ The hillocks and the passes and the mounds The hillocks and the passes are terms for what is less elevated than a mountain, and likewise the hills and the waymarks. Their number is beyond counting, except for the greatest of them: the pass of Hamadhān in the lands of the east; in the Hijaz, the pass of Harshī; on the road to Makkah from the direction of Iraq, the pass of Wāqiṣa; and when you ascend toward the Hijaz, the pass of Kurāʿ.
