Translation
✧ [Poetry of Kaʿb b. Mālik on the killing of Ibn al-Ashraf] Ibn Isḥāq said: Kaʿb b. Mālik said: Kaʿb was left among them thrown down; after his fall, al-Naḍīr were humiliated. Upon the two hands there, and they had mounted him with our unsheathed swords, males, at the command of Muḥammad when he sent by night Kaʿb's brother, going to Kaʿb. So he deceived him and brought him down by a ruse; Maḥmūd was a trusted, bold brother.
