The Great Expedition of Badr
[ عَدَدُ مَنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ ] فَجَمِيعُ مَنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ، وَمَنْ ضَرَبَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِسَهْمِهِ وَأَجْرِهِ، ثَلَاثَةٌ وَثَمَانُونَ رَجُلًا. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: كَثِيرٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ، غَيْرَ ابْنِ إسْحَاقَ، يَذْكُرُونَ فِي الْمُهَاجِرِينَ بِبَدْرٍ، فِي بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ لُؤَيٍّ: وَهْبَ بْنَ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ، وَحَاطِبَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو، وَفِي بَنِي الْحَارِثِ بْنِ فِهْرٍ: عِيَاضَ بْنَ زُهَيْرٍ.
Translation
✧ [ The number of emigrants who witnessed Badr ] All of the emigrants who witnessed Badr, and for whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ assigned his arrow and reward, were eighty-three men. Ibn Hishām said: Many of the people of knowledge, other than Ibn Isḥāq, mention among the emigrants at Badr, in Banū ʿĀmir b. Luʾayy: Wahb b. Saʿd b. Abī Sarḥ, and Ḥāṭib b. ʿAmr, and in Banū al-Ḥārith b. Fihr: ʿIyāḍ b. Zuhayr.
