✧ He was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a man came and entered the mosque and prayed. When he finished his prayer, he came and greeted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: 'Go back and pray, for you have not prayed.' He mentioned that either two or three times. The man said: 'I do not know what fault you find with my prayer.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The prayer of any of you is not complete until he performs ablution thoroughly as Allah ﷻ commanded him: he washes his face and his hands up to the elbows, wipes his head and his feet up to the ankles, then says takbir, praises Allah, glorifies Him, and recites from the Qur'an what Allah has permitted him, then says takbir and bows, placing his palms on his knees until his joints are at ease and he is upright, then says "Allah hears the one who praises Him" and stands upright until every bone takes its proper place, then straightens his back, then says takbir and prostrates, placing his forehead firmly on the ground until his joints are at ease and he is level, then says takbir and raises his head and sits upright on his seat and straightens his back.' He described the prayer thus until he finished, then said: 'The prayer of any of you is not complete until he does that.'
