✧ I entered the mosque and found an old man picking lice from himself. I greeted him, and he returned the greeting. I sat by him and said, "Who are you, O uncle?" He said, "Rather, who are you, O son of my brother?" I said, "I am Ma'bad b. Khalid." He said, "Welcome. I knew your father; he was with me in Damascus. Your father and I were the first two horsemen to halt at the gate of 'Adhra', a town in Syria." I said, "Who are you?" He said, "I am Abu Sarihah al-Ghifari, a companion of the Prophet ﷺ." I said, "Tell me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." He said, "Yes. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Two men from Muzaynah will be gathered; they are the last of people to be gathered. They will come from a mountain they have climbed until they reach the landmarks of people and find the earth turned into wild beasts. They will come to Madinah, and when they reach the outskirts of Madinah, they will say, 'Where are the people?' They will see no one. One of them will say, 'The people are in their houses.' They will enter the houses, and there is no one in them, and on the beds are foxes and cats. They will say, 'Where are the people?' One of them will say, 'The people are in the mosque.' They will come to the mosque and find no one. They will say, 'Where are the people?' One of them will say, 'The people are in the market; the markets have occupied them.' They will go out until they come to the markets and find no one in them. They will proceed until they come to the mountain pass, and there are two angels upon it. The angels will seize their feet and drag them to the land of gathering, and they are the last of people to be gathered."
