✧ “I see what you do not see and I hear what you do not hear. The heaven has creaked, and it has a right to creak: there is not in it—or there is not from it—a space of four fingers except an angel is placing his forehead prostrating to Allah the Exalted. By Allah, if you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much, and you would not enjoy women upon the beds, and you would go out to the high places crying out to Allah. By Allah, I wish I were a tree that is cut down.”
