أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ كَامِلِ بْنِ خَلَفٍ الْقَاضِي ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ ثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ حَيَّةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي حَيَّةَ قَالَتْ
دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَجُلٌ بِالظَّهِيرَةِ قُلْتُ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ مَا حَاجَتُكَ؟ قَالَ «أَقْبَلْتُ وَصَاحِبٌ لِي فِي بُغَاءِ إِبِلٍ لَنَا فَدَخَلْتُ أَسْتَظِلُّ بِالظِّلِّ وَاشْرَبُ مِنَ الشَّرَابِ» فَقُمْتُ إِلَى ضَيْحَةٍ حَامِضَةٍ وَلَبِينَةٍ حَامِضَةٍ فَسَقَيْتُهُ وَقُلْتُ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَنْتَ؟ قَالَ «أَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الَّذِي سَمِعْتِ بِهِ» قَالَ فَذَكَرْتُ خَثْعَمًا وَغَزْوَ بَعْضِنَا بَعْضًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَمَا جَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الِإِلْفَةِ وَأَطْنَابِ الْفَسَاطِيطِ هَكَذَا وَشَبَّكَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ حَتَّى مَتَى أَمْرُ النَّاسِ هَكَذَا؟ قَالَ «مَا اسْتَقَامَتِ الْأَئِمَّةُ» قَالَتْ قُلْتُ وَمَا الْأَئِمَّةُ؟ قَالَ «أَلَمْ تَرَيْ إِلَى الْحُوَى يَكُونُ فِيهِ السَّيِّدُ يَتَّبِعُونَهُ وَيُطِيعُونَهُ مَا اسْتَقَامَ أُولَئِكَ»

✧ A man entered upon me at midday. I said, 'O 'Abd Allah, what do you need?' He said, 'I came with a companion of mine to look for camels of ours, and I entered to shade myself in the shade and drink from the drink.' I got up to some sour milk mixed with water and some sour curdled milk, gave him to drink, and said, 'O 'Abd Allah, who are you?' He said, 'I am Abu Bakr, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, whom you have heard of.' She said: Then I remembered Khath'am and some of us raiding one another in the Jahiliyyah, and what Allah brought of harmony and the ropes of the tents like this—and he interlaced his fingers. She said: I said, 'O 'Abd Allah, until when will the people's affair be like this?' He said, 'As long as the leaders are upright.' She said: I said, 'What are the leaders?' He said, 'Have you not seen the encampment where there is a chief whom they follow and obey? As long as those are upright.'

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجَاهُ صحيح
