أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ التَّاجِرُ ثَنَا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثَنَا بَشِيرُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ عَنْ سَيَّارٍ أَبِي الْحَكَمِ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ
كُنَّا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ جُلُوسًا فَجَاءَ آذِنُهُ فَقَالَ قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَقَامَ وَقُمْنَا مَعَهُ فَدَخَلْنَا الْمَسْجِدَ فَرَأَى النَّاسَ رُكُوعًا فِي مُقَدَّمِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَكَبَّرَ وَرَكَعَ وَمَشَى وَفَعَلْنَا مِثْلَ مَا فَعَلَ قَالَ فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ مُسْرِعٌ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَبَلَّغَ رَسُولُهُ ﷺ فَلَمَّا صَلَّيْنَا رَجَعَ فَوَلَجَ أَهْلَهُ وَجَلَسْنَا فِي مَكَانِهِ نَنْتَظِرُهُ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ فَقَالَ بَعْضُنَا لِبَعْضٍ أَيُّكُمْ يَسْأَلُهُ؟ قَالَ طَارِقٌ أَنَا أَسْأَلُهُ فَسَأَلَهُ طَارِقٌ فَقَالَ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكَ الرَّجُلُ فَرَدَدْتَ عَلَيْهِ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَبَلَّغَ رَسُولُهُ ﷺ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ تَسْلِيمَ الْخَاصَّةِ وَفُشُوَّ التِّجَارَةِ حَتَّى تُعِينَ الْمَرْأَةُ زَوْجَهَا عَلَى التِّجَارَةِ وَحَتَّى يَخْرُجَ الرَّجُلُ بِمَالِهِ إِلَى أَطْرَافِ الْأَرْضِ فَيَرْجِعُ فَيَقُولُ لَمْ أَرْبَحْ شَيْئًا

✧ We were sitting with 'Abd Allah b. Mas'ud when his doorkeeper came and said: 'The prayer has been established.' He stood up and we stood with him. We entered the mosque and saw the people bowing in the front of the mosque. He said the takbir, bowed, and walked; we did the same as he did. A man passed by hurrying and said: 'Peace be upon you, O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman.' He replied: 'Allah has spoken the truth and His Messenger ﷺ has conveyed.' When we finished praying, he returned and went into his family. We sat in his place waiting for him to come out. Some of us said to others: 'Who among you will ask him?' Tariq said: 'I will ask him.' So Tariq asked him: 'A man greeted you and you replied: "Allah has spoken the truth and His Messenger ﷺ has conveyed."' 'Abd Allah said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Before the Hour comes, greeting will be limited to the elite, and commerce will spread so much that a woman will help her husband in trade, and a man will take his wealth to the farthest parts of the earth and return saying: 'I did not profit anything.'"'
