✧ I entered the mosque and there was a circle as if their heads had been cut off. Among them was a man narrating, and it was Hudhayfah. He said: They used to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the good, but I used to ask him about the evil, so that I might know it and avoid it. I knew that the good would not escape me. He said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, will there be evil after this good in which we are?" He said, "O Hudhayfah, learn the Book of Allah Almighty and act according to what is in it." I repeated my question, and on the third time he said, "Trial and discord." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, will there be good after that evil?" He said, "O Hudhayfah, learn the Book of Allah Almighty and act according to what is in it." Then I said, "O Messenger of Allah, will there be good after that evil?" He said, "Trials at whose gates are callers to the Fire. That you should die while biting onto the stump of a tree is better for you than following any of them."
