حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ الْعَامِرِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ ثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذَ الْعَدْلُ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الشَّافِعِيُّ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّيْدَلَانِيُّ قَالُوا ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ثَنَا خَلَّادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْقُرَشِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ثَنَا مِسْعَرُ بْنُ كِدَامٍ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ قَالَ

شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَالْأَعْرَابُ يَسْأَلُونَهُ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْنَا حَرَجٌ فِي كَذَا؟ عَلَيْنَا حَرَجٌ فِي كَذَا؟ لِأَشْيَاءَ لَيْسَ بِهَا بَأْسٌ فَقَالَ «عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَضَعَ الْحَرَجَ إِلَّا مَنِ اقْتَرَفَ مِنْ عِرْضِ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ ظُلْمًا فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي حَرِجَ وَهَلَكَ» فَقَالُوا نَتَدَاوَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ تَدَاوَوْا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى لَمْ يَضَعْ دَاءً إِلَّا وَضَعَ لَهُ دَوَاءً غَيْرَ دَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ «الْهَرَمُ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا خَيْرُ مَا أُعْطِيَ الْإِنْسَانُ؟ قَالَ «خُلُقٌ حَسَنٌ»

✧ I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Bedouins asking him, saying, "O Messenger of Allah, do we have any hardship in such a matter? Do we have any hardship in such a matter?" concerning things that are not harmful. He ﷺ said, "O slaves of Allah, Allah has relieved us of the hardship, except for the one who wrongs a Muslim's honor. That is the one who has hardship and perishes." So they said, "Should we seek medical treatment, O Messenger of Allah?" He ﷺ said, "Yes, seek medical treatment, O slaves of Allah, for Allah Almighty has not created a disease except that He has also created its cure except for one disease." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is it?" He ﷺ said, "Old age." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the best thing that a person can be given?" He ﷺ said, "Good manners."

  • هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ فَقَدْ رَوَاهُ عَشَرَةٌ مِنْ أَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَثِقَاتِهِمْ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ فَمِنْهُمْ مِسْعَرُ بْنُ كِدَامٍ كَمَا تَقَدَّمَ ذِكْرِي لَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ الْبَجَلِيُّصحيح

    machine translationThis ḥadīth has a sound chain (ṣaḥīḥ al-isnād), for ten of the leading and trustworthy scholars of the Muslims narrated it from Ziyād b. ʿIlāqah. Among them is Misʿar b. Kidām, as I mentioned previously, and among them is Mālik b. Mighwal al-Bajalī. Sound (ṣaḥīḥ).
