✧ 'Umar b. al-Khattab entered upon the Prophet ﷺ while he was on a mat that had left marks on his side. He said, 'O Messenger of Allah, if only you would take a bed softer than this.' He said, 'What do I have to do with the world? What does the world have to do with me? By the One in whose hand is my soul, my likeness and the likeness of this world is only that of a rider who traveled on a hot day, shaded himself under a tree for an hour of the day, then departed and left it.'
