Notes

machine translationThis is an authentic (ṣaḥīḥ) hadith meeting the criteria of the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhārī and Muslim), though they did not narrate it with this wording. They only agreed upon the hadith of ʿUmārah b. al-Qaʿqāʿ, from Abū Zurʿah, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: "When the Prophet ﷺ said the takbīr, he would pause between the takbīr and the recitation." As for the hadith of Samurah, let no one imagine that al-Ḥasan did not hear from Samurah, for he did hear from him. It also has a supporting narration (shāhid) with an authentic chain meeting their criteria.
